Sunday Update:
Looks like they nailed the beast. The town is engulfed in smoke, which made for a tough morning run, but the threat has passed. Last night, standing on top of a tiny hill (the locals call it Fitch Mountain, but it is no larger than a skate ramp, really), I could see the flames lick-licking the earth. Tanker planes are still whizzing overhead, but not with the regularity of yesterday.
