Off to Seattle and Vancouver B.C. tomorrow morning, returning in a week or so. Looking ever so much forward to that 3 A.M. drive to Oakland. I'm sure so many of you here at SG will miss me greatly. In fact, I expect a thread dedicated to my absence. Something along the lines of, "What in the world will we do, now that sixblueten has left us, albeit temporarily?" I'll leave it to my legions of friends to fight over who gets the honor of starting the thread.
Before I go, I'll toss up a J. Cortazar quote, for kicks. And because it resonates for me almost daily. Sometimes even hourly. Keeps me on track, don't you know. It helps to have something or someone to keep you on track.
" . . . because the world doesn't matter anymore if you don't have the strength to go ahead and choose something that's really true."

But i agree with the misspent energy...wasted, really---none returning...
There was a lot of energy in our house, and yeah, it's sad that most of it was all for naught...
FYI, they now sell a single book that binds all of the books into one volume...it's great for that reason and the WONDERFUL engravings are printed larger! Only thing I don't like is it's a telephone book nearly and the books are reprinted in chronological order rather than the order CS Lewis wrote them in. And also no cover art from the normal books either
