A journey that a started started as a trip to the ER and tuned into a month in of visiting the ICU came to an end Thursday night. My girlfirend's mother passed on to the next plane of existence. Her daughter and I were by her side, surrounded by family when the last breath of life left her body.
Did you know they give you cookies when some one dies?
Yeah, "Sorry for your lost. Here's some cookies."
As the bulk of the family left the room, my girlfriend, her brother and I stayed behind for a few last moments with the departed. As my girlfriend held her mother's hand for the last time, her brother greedily and absently ate the entirety box of cookies over his mother corpse. I guess everyone deals with with greaf in their way.
