So I have done my first fore into the realm of Mandarin Chinese! So much sounds the same, all those tones, i think this is going to be another one that i can read but cannot speak or listen to, maybe. Like i can read spanish, but i can only pick out a few words hear and there when i listen, and for some reason I am deathly afraid to speak it with native speakers. Very strange huh? I guess i will just have to overcome my insecurities and embrace the language, so that when i go to China this summer, hopefully i will be able to communicate on a basic level. Wish me luck!
