Everybody loves to do the 20 interesting facts - I'll make no bones about jumping on the bandwagon (ohh! look at the cliche implosion!) and doing the same myself. Simply because it is a good way to know people.
- I am a very spiritual person, this is reflected in my daily life, the way I interpret literature, what I read, what I listen too, my politics, and lifestyle. Now, that is to say that I am any particular religion, but have an outlook borrowed from many religions and socio-spiritual movements. I like the term heathen myself.
- I am a child of displacement, most of my childhood was spent across all the major continents except Antartica. I was subject to a major move on a regular, almost regimented, 3-4 year basis. I got to see a lot of the world, which is nice, but was never able to develop roots anywhere, which I still to this day find sad in many ways.
- I was diagnosed with Acute Intermittant Porphyria, which is a metabolic disease in which my body suffers from a deficiancy of an enzyme needed to create heme - which is needed for the body to function properly, about 4 years ago . Believe me it is not something pleasant to have and I don't really want to list off the symptoms as I am not that type of person. If you are interested in learning more, just ask.
- I am an English Literature and Philosophy double major. I truly feel the two subjects go hand in hand, and are nice compliments to each other. I plan on pursueing graduate and doctoral work in these fields and trying to expand the average student and person's mind about the importance and glory of the written word.
- I spent close to two years in Russia which had the strangest and most profound affect on me. I returned having learned very little practical Russian, given birth to an affection for Russian Literature - namely Bulgakov, Mayakovsky, Pelevin, Babel, and Lermontov, left me with an odd obsession with the Bolshevik Revolution (especially the subject of Nestor Makhno), and a great love for the people of Finland.
- My cousin introduced me to Filth and Minor Threat when I was around 12/13 and my life has been fucked up ever since.
- I attempt to be vegetarian for two to three weeks out of every month. While that is the goal, my body doesn't let me accomplish it very often. This is not a sign of weak will, but more of a side effect of Interesting Fact #3
- Every summer I try to go on a grand adventure, where I place everything I own in storage or at various friend's houses and go out into the world with nothing but three books, two notebooks, pens, a few spare clothes, and a toothbrush.
- My dream is to spend the rest of my days sailing the various seas and rivers of the World, fighting whalers, illegal fisherman, people dumping trash at sea, and pirates like some anachronistic environmental corsair.
- Somewhere I learned how to perform acupressure therapy, where I don't know, but I know it works.
- I wish to go back to Australia and study more about Aboriginal Culture and the Dreamtime.
- I have been having this dream lately that the Native Americans seized control of the government and issued an ultimatum forcing most of non-native America to increase the space program because now that we were left without homes, and Europe didn't want us, we are forced to colonize space. The dream ended with me realizing that we would fuck up the Cosmos.
- I am fascinated by Crimethinc
- The destruction of Art is what is going to save Art in the coming years. We must destroy how we view, transmit, feel, and appreciate Art as a Society in an effort to save Art from stagnation and consumerism. This I truly believe.
- I have always wanted to be a part of ELF, but I refuse to do to the fact that I know I would run my mouth when I shouldn't and that would be a very very very bad thing. So I just remain vocal in my support for them, which will probably get me arrested eventually.
- The most encouraging words I ever heard in my life were, "We don't stop until we get arrested." Don't ask me why, but hearing someone say that when the timing is crucial, the environment heated, and passions are on the rise makes that phrase almost capable of ushering a multitude into Samsara.
- I tried to hang myself once, but was saved by my inability to tie a knot properly. I did not pay enough attention to the whole knot concept when I was in the Boy Scouts, though I was asked to leave the Scouts because I did know how to make fire too well. Go figure, but these days, I just laugh about it all.
- I've been to Bhutan twice, and plan someday on going again before setting up a dream un-nation in the Pacific.
- I really only enjoyed the Lord of the Rings movies, because I just could never grow to stand Tolkien's lengthy narratives.
- I used the Simpsons as a road map for navigating Reality, and the Tick and ATHF to help guide me to the Amusement Centers of Dystopian America.
