All the likes and support that you've given me lately (and not to mention the new followers!)
(Pic above of me getting my makeup done by some fabulous makeup artists at MAC in Denver prior to the Blackheart Burlesque show!)
So, new followers, let me welcome you! I love to engage with people, and I want to know how you found me and/or why you decided to follow me?
I must admit, my life is rather mundane, and I've been kind of down in the dumps for some time now, but I'm recovering from it, and trying my best to keep busy, rather than dwell on things going wrong. It's hard to do sometimes, but I am pushing through. Still not sleeping well (ha! as you can tell from the post coming in around 5AM.), and my mom is coming to visit for a week. Not sure how I feel about it, but meh...
I took tons of pics at the SG show in Denver, which I have to now go through and edit, which kind of sucks since after my last computer's logic board failed, I had to get a new one, and I can't get my photoshop key to work on the new one. š« If any of you have tips on how to fix that, I would love them! I am on a fully updated MacBook Pro mid 2015 15".
Any advice other than "get a PC" or something stupid like "set it on fire" would be helpful. I doubt I could ever go back to a PC in my entire life. I was required to have an Apple computer of some sort by my college because it's an all-music school, and more music (and some of the better photo/graphic) editing programs are OS-X based.
Sorry, I just feel like every single time I mention I have a Mac and something on it slightly glitches, there's always at least that one bro-dude-guy who has to make a smart ass remark about my computer operating system preference. I'm not opening up the window for a debate, just hoping someone may have had a similar problem and can help me... Besides, we're adults, why do you care if I happen to have one preference over another that doesn't happen to be the same as yours? It's just something I happen to be more comfortable with.
It's almost like being right handed or left handed. I write with my left, yet do everything else with my right hand. I play(ed) sports right handed, I eat with my right hand... I'd hope someone wouldn't berate me over something that silly. You know?
Anyhow, editing photos of @papermashay, @bricksie, @liryc, and all the other SG dancers' perfect *ahem* assets with my mom around will be interesting to say the least. š Maybe she'll finally realize that I'm not wasting my time and money on this "stupid expensive hobby", as she calls it. I mean, there were some photos I was hella proud of just looking at them on the review screen of my camera!
I'm also trying to figure out what the hell to do with my mom while she's in Colorado. She's from Rhode Island (obviously, where I grew up), so anything longer than a 5 minute drive to do something is "too far" in her book. I kind of want to talk her to Canon City and scare the crap out of her by showing her the Royal Gorge bridge, which I both bungie jumped off of and sky dived over. (RGB is something worth googling) She doesn't do well with heights, but there's an abbey down there that makes amazing wine and a dinosaur museum I've always wanted to see... but that's like an hour's drive... Sometimes I forget parts of my city are tourist traps and that I've never even gone to any of them in all the years I've lived here.
Sorry to bother you with my stupid ramblings! I hope to get to know you guys better, and I hope I can keep myself out of this cloud of doom that keeps following closely behind.
Enjoy your week!
