From Thursday to Saturday the city was overrun by awesomeness, just like every year. The reason for that, is called "Pflasterspektakel". It is a huge festival of street artists of all kinds. From buffoonery, juggling, music, acrobatics, stand-stills up to dancing and fire-shows there is nothing that isn't represented here. And, true to the street artist spirit, they don't get any salary for their attendance. The audience donates whatever it feels like. And the beautiful thing about that? It actually works.
Unfortunately I only had time on Friday evening and Saturday... That's just not enough time to see everything I wanted to see. I couldn't see MC Xander this time around, which is a real shame. u__u
If you do not know why, check this YouTube-video from him...
But I got the chance to see some other sweet acts. Like the Traditional Dixie Stompers. You can never go wrong with some sweet Dixie-Jazz if you want to boost your mood!
And this guy from Zimbabwe... holy fuck. I had no idea how much power and different sounds such a small drum can produce. And he started and played for an hour straight, without pause.
There rally ARE artist from all over the world at the festival. From Zimbabwe straight to Japan. I've seen this guy a year or two ago. He is crazy! Yes, he is actually balancing a tea-pot on a stick he holds in his mouth. He also threw it in the air and caught it again. Jep, still only with the stick.
Spectacular as always: when it gets dark, the fire-shows start. Mmmmmh... fiiiire~ °____°
And like the years before, whenever they are here too, the last show on the last day I watch is the "concert" of Coro Corridore Con Megafoni, an Italian band with sooo much enthusiasm, energy an just pure joy. And why exactly the last show on the last day? Because all people he saw them before and thought they were awesome will be there again. So for this show, there will be all the people, who know what to expect. They will be already infected by the atmosphere, they will spread that special lightheartedness and - what's even more important - they won't give a fuck and dance like crazy. No photo this time, because I was busy shaking my ass off, but this video here shows what to expect and is also a nice example of their mindset, I think.
All in all... a weekend to get a little refuel of joy. I really needed that!
