The weather was so nice yesterday, that I decided it's about time to start running again. Oh boy...
First I have to say, I'm a lazy-ass bastard. But last year I decided it's time to change things up a little and do at least a little sport. I decided on running, because that's something you can do everywhere, it's cheap, it's good for the whole body and - since I love going for walks - it's the same only faster. XD
Well... when I started, I was dead when I reached the first corner of the block here. Turns out, not only do I have no stamina whatsoever, I also had to learn that running doesn't necessarily mean "move as fast as you can". Yeah, some people even have to learn how to run... *sigh*
Anyway, I really liked it and although my distance/time-relation was still the one of a pregnant elephant on Valium, I got better and better. Then I had to brace myself, because winter was coming. And with the cold temperatures, my laziness came back as well. A warm home with hot tea and cookies just sounds so much more appealing than running through snow and ice... So I did nothing. Nothing at all. And now I realized, it's getting hard to hide my potbelly, so it was about time to get moving again.
But DAMN! I feel like I have to start all over again... months of doing nothing really messed up everything. My thighs are burning, my knees hurt and all that ALTHOUGH I had to do some walking-phases, because I couldn't do my usual route as a whole anymore. ;___;
Also, it just might have been a very stupid decision to start at around noon on one of the fist really hot days... @_@
