But even I have to speak up.

I try to remain neutral in the current situation.

And I don't like what I see on the site now. This community is meant to be a safe place for everyone. And what do we see now? Aggression, accusations, bullying. People are you crazy?

Let me tell you my story.

I was born and raised in Russia, but in 2012 I moved to Odessa, Ukraine. And, as you all already know, after a while a civil war broke out there...

Do you know what it is to be afraid for your safety You know how it is to hear explosions in a city? ? And to see checkpoints, armored personnel carriers and armed people in the city? Do you know what it is like to go out for a walk and get into a situation where anyone you meet can beat you up for the wrong answer to one question?

Because of this, I had to go back to Russia. Because of human aggression, because I didn't feel safe anymore.

I ask you very much not to turn this beautiful free community into a place of aggression and anarchy, because I don't want to run anymore🖤

I've been here since 2007 so of course I have great fondness for the site. As for emotional pain, yes, it can be a lifelong issue when something really painful happens but the important thing is that we can choose our attitude and how we respond. Insecure people will be insulting and abusive because they want to feel powerful by making others feel small, weak and defective. If we accept those hurtful comments as factual then it can be a lifetime of feeling worthless, which would be terrible. We also have the choice to learn and discover that the abuser is the one who needs counselling and we can walk away to be with healthy people. Problem solved. I always say that anyone who is deliberately insulting must never be listened to. They are always messed up so we have the choice to not be hurt very much by them and then only for a short time. We can always learn new and better coping skills.
