was talking to a friend at work about a coworker, and they said, "Ooh, sounds like you might have a bit of a crush on her!"
I said, "Oh I definitely have a crush on her."
Them: "Well, why don't you say something?"
Me: "For one, they're interested in someone else who's also into them; and for two, they're not interested in me in that way even if they weren't trying to start something with someone else. If I have a crush on someone, they're either unavailable or uninterested."
Them: "Well, what if you had a crush on someone who was interested and available?"
Me: "I know you just spoke English, but none of those words made any sense." I chuckled and then said, "But, that hasn't happened in many MANY years. Unavailable or uninterested, that's just the way it is."
