So I was given Star Wars: Outlaws as a Father's day gift and got to play it for a few hours yesterday. Personally, as much as I think the Force, Jedi and Sith are cool (although, let's be real, the Jedi are gaslighters who think mortal beings should be robots; at least Sith understand emotions are a normal healthy thing), it's hard to relate to them. But regular folk in the SW universe, like scoundrels, are much more relatable (and yes, Han Solo is my all-time favorite SW character).
The best part is how you can fully customize the gameplay. Finally getting to see slicing and data spikes in use is cool, but it's even better that you can make it as difficult or easy as you want (and they come up a LOT). Not getting to experience a story or moments cuz you can't figure out a mini-game benefits no one but snobs.
Combat can be a little tricky, but stealth and your companion make things a little better. Getting into gunfights usually ends badly for you, but then again she is just an ordinary no special powers mortal. That makes it feel more authentic.
And, getting to explore the underworld in SW (something that hasn't happened too much) is really interesting, and well done. The feel of not knowing who you can trust keeps you on your toes.
So yeah, I'm enjoying it, and if you thought it looked interesting, you should give it a shot.
