Right meow...
I'm trying to finish this epic book I've been reading on and off for the past four months. Why so long, you ask? The author went into in depth research on the mechanism of action of all psychiatric medications and their clinical research histories. It's nothing that I didn't know about earlier (I have a Bachelors of Science in Behavioral Neuroscience) BUT I had never actually gone that deep into the research and it's been very hard to swallow. Of course I am not one to just immediately believe what anyone who has written a book has to say, so I did some research of my own and sure enough the guy was dead on about absolutely everything except Schizophrenia. My experience with all psychiatric meds is that I immediately have every "rare" (or so I thought) side effect on the box within a week of use so, along with my education, I am a firm believer in psychosocial therapy first and foremost with the inclusion of psychiatric drugs if absolutely necessary. That has been my mantra for years (and trust me, everyone around me knows) but now that I know that this side effects aren't so rare and are actually extremely detrimental in not such a long term period I am having a difficult time keeping my mouth shut about these new discoveries. Meanwhile, this is the internet and free speech is apparently tolerated (although that is also a fallacy of its own), so I ask you.... What are your experiences with psychiatric meds and do you find they've been mostly helpful or harmful to your lifestyle?
(For those of you that want to read this book: Anatomy of an Epidemic by Robert Whitaker)
On a lighter note!...
I met up with a beautiful soon-to-be hopeful yesterday along with @oro for a mini shootfest at this beautiful two-story loft. I shot two sets of each. Now.. let me ask you: HOW EXCITED ARE YOU TO HAVE ORO BACK?! I know I am. I love this girl with all my heart. If you can't wait the two-month MR queue, you can check her out in a little something we shot for Zivity last month - Gypsy.
School is amazing. I'm working in the Birthing Center and the Maternity floor and I am just so euphoric every time I have to go into work. I've really found my calling.
And then my boyfriend Omen painted a photograph I took. I was so psyched!

And please don't forget about @lee.. I'd really love Burning Desire to go live. This girl has been on the site for nearly a decade! I don't want this set to disappear into MR.
