1 year.....things can go either horribly wrong, or horribly right in the next 365 days. Both outcomes are terrifying to me, mostly because either way, I'm going to be WAY out of my comfort zone.
As of 4/21, I start serving a 2 year suspended sentence, and 2 years of probation (they're concurrent, happening at the same time, plus they get lifted after 1 year good behavior). If I screw up at all, I serve 12 months in Hillsboro County, AKA Valley Street Jail. That would be classified as things going horribly wrong, and of course it scares me because I've never been to jail, and I know WAYYYYYY too many people in there, and they're a way bad influence on me.
If things go right....
I'm saving $200/month for the next year. At the end of 12 months, that $2,400. I know it's not a hell of a lot of money, but it's enough to get me to the west coast. I've lived in New England for 25 years, and I've never lived further than 25 miles away from where I was born, save for the 2 months I lived in KY. I've grown way accustomed to things here, and even though I have mixed feelings on leaving, I feel that it's definitely time to get out and experience other parts of the country.
I could definitely use some encouragement on this...plus I need to make up my mind on where I want to live. I was thinking San Fran or San Diego, maybe someone could give me their opinions on these places, or maybe give me some more options on places to check out? (by the way, thanks Odette!)
