so the last website i linked to has updated and i can't find the damn video on the website to give a proper link.

but fear not.

here's another link to another baddass muthafucka.

but this is one is for completely different reasons.

while the last guy was ludicrously strong, this cat brings a subtlety and flavor that is jaw-droppingly illicious. i mean, is...

Your ranger could track orcs only by smell? AWESOME.

I first saw that david kid on the clip on this page: http://www.kollaboration.org/videos.php

I like it because it encapsulates the true golden moment of hip-hop: destroying your unsuspecting foes in a battle. Heh, heh.
cast:
That badass muthafucka lived up to his name. I've never seen break dancing like that before. eeek He seemed to have the skills of a trained gymnnast, with the pommel horse moves and such. It was like watching the olympics.

I teach math to fashion students. It's my dream job -- no joke. smile I went to class yesterday thinking my back hurt so much that I shoulda stayed home. Well, my students gave their scheduled presentations, and I was so impressed that my negative turned positive. Life rocks when you least expect it. biggrin

wow, that is amazing, i can not believe he could do some of those things, i don't think the body can naturally do that.
thanks for the link
cklarock:
Oh my Black Baby Jesus, that is freakishly strong. I've already spammed my friends with the link, thanks. smile

If you like b-boy battles, there's one tomorrow Friday the 4th, at the Great American Music Hall, 859 O'Farrel.

Yeah, there are some real nut-jobs out there. One sifu told me that his kung-fu secrets were so potent, that if he shared them with me there wouldn't be a boxer in the world who could beat me. Of course, he never allowed his students to actually spar, because not only was their tremendous risk of them crippling or killing one another, that kind of competitive thinking was degenerative toward their spiritual practice.

So they *could* defeat any boxer in the world, but don't-- because they're so spiritual.

Of course there is one small catch-- in order to train with him I had to promise *never* to train anywhere else for the rest of my life-- even the seemingly innocuous act of training alongside some outsider could allow that person to infer some of his Mysterious and Deadly Kung Fu Secrets (TM).

Allrighty then. My buddy who did train with him for 3 years got curious and started sparring on the sly with some San Shou fighters and they handed him his ass-- he was really dissapointed. He trains out at EBM, now. smile

-----

In the first track, there is a mixture of live musicians and studio-produced breakbeats-- I'm not sure where the breaks came from, I just did my thing in the studio. In the second, we're dropping breaks from the Dirt Style scratch records, and a breaks compliation series that I forget the name of . . .

Nice to meet you as well. Plumblossom.net is how I know about your school. I went apeshit crazy researching kung fu in San Francisco abt. 2 1/2 years ago. I met a few notables, including Wong Jack Man, and a few nutjobs (who shall remain nameless).

I eventually landed for a minute at EBM in Oakland, but couldn't really devote the 2 hrs commute 3 times a week. frown They're great guys, though, and they train hard.

You're producing now? Do you have any tracks online? I have some older stuff at:
http://www.cklarock.com/tracks/

This was circia 2001, from a group I used to play with out of Kansas City. The first track is a live/electronic D&B thing, and the second is a less produced rockish soulish joint. The singer on the 2nd is the guy producing downtempo here in SF right now. On that 2nd track, you can hear how we were mixing hip hop breaks into the band-- it doesn't translate with the stream, but live it was booming.

Yeah, I've stayed away from muscle relaxants for that reason. Somehow I'd rather have severe pain than to be in a stupor, or to be addicted.

Glad to hear that you got some eye candy. These photsets are something I don't mind being addicted to.

I'm obsessed with making just about everything: silver jewelry, arty-crafty stuff, engine repairs, good food, a cardboard vacation for my brother (see above), corsets, book bindings, and hopefully some pumpkins this summer. The list will go on as long as I do. How bout you? ooo aaa

i spent today in the hospital waiting room, which i'm beginning to realize lies in one of the outer circles of hell. perhaps it's just the waiting room to enter hell, but i have a feeling that long, painful waits in very uninviting locales is one way that hell insiduously reveals itself into.

so i pulled a muscle in my back and had to go...

the party went really well on Saturday. i had a really good time spinning. i got to bang out some harder tech house and breaks which is pretty hard to do in this city sometimes. everybody's on the house tip, but sometimes, somebody has just got to say no.

i finally outdid myself on the stirfry tip. i mixed up some Thai marinated tofu with...

if you are in the city on Saturday night, i'll be spinning at the following party:

$5 beat @ Club Six on 6th St. at Market.

with dj's: Drag'nfly, Hoj, Jackson, J.Means and more

free before 11 pm and only $5 dollars after. how can you beat that?

the first day without coffee was hard. i was in a crappy mood all day with a headache. day two, less so. i've been drinking a cup of green tea so i can have the sensation of a warm cup in the morning. and i've concocted a couple juices that i like. a few friends who've been joining us on this journey have lost 5-7 pounds in 1 week. i'm not in it for the weight loss, rather the physical clearing and mental clarity. i already feel the effects and i'm glad. good luck to you too!

edited to ask - what's the detox mix?

i hope everyone had a good new year's. mine was pretty chill compared to year's past. i did end up going to Breakfast of Champions over at Whisper on new year's day. DJ Friendly was tearing it up and i ran into some good friends. called it an early night though.

i've been making some decisions regarding my dj'ing and have decided to chill out...

i made it back from Florida last night after several plane delays and some rough weather. it's kind of surreal spending your morning at a shooting range with a bunch of rednecks and then finishing off the day in a taxi going down the streets of the Castro.

Christmas vacation was nice, i ate way too much food -- esp. fudge and buckeyes -- but...
