This bothered me today as I read a bulletin on myspace entitled, "FUCK THE SOLDIERS" which referenced a group on myspace people were petitioning to remove.
This is what I had to say regarding the matter, (and yes I posted it):

Re: "FUCK THE SOLDIERS"
I have come across a recent post entitled, "FUCK THE SOLDIERS" which did not settle well with my thoughts. I have proudly served 16 months in Iraq and overseas with these "soldiers". But when looking farther into the matter another thought crossed my mind to all those who left their name who have proudly served as well.
Do not mistake that I do not have ill feelings for those with disrespect, no matter what race, religion, or walk of life they may be from, for our men and women who serve. But I must remind myself and those who slander, that the very thing we fight so proudly for, the soldiers they fight so proudly against, are the ones who protect their right to say what they feel.
So go ahead and say "FUCK THE SOLDIERS", the men and women who risk their lives and volunteer to protect and uphold the rights that allow the freedom of speech to flow from your lips. And I will still hold my head up high as a person and a soldier and be proud that even with your ill words toward mine and many other proud serviceman's duties, They are the ones who have given you the right to uphold our belief system and liberties to write such things. If not for this, your ability to say "FUCK THE SOLDIERS" would not exist.
It is my thought to leave such a group in place if only to remind us as soldiers that we proudly gave them the right to do such, and those with their opinions that we respect the rights we have sworn to uphold and defend. Also, our battles will not always be in foreign lands, with foreign people, some of the hardest ones will be right here in our hearts and homes.
So, "FUCK THE SLANDER", this is me expressing my freedom of speech. And I am a proud supporter of our troops.
