Saw Chuck Palahniuk read today. What an extraordinary person. Charismatic, bright and clearly cares about his fans.

Although, I'm not so much for his writing. Formulaic, although admittedly packed chock-full of factoids!

Come home and found my bathroom COVERED in ants. Big ants, little ants, ants with wings. Ants that wouldn't die when I sprayed ant-death on them. It was probably the first time I've felt helpless in a while. And over such a small thing! Perhaps it's just that I felt, at the time, that it was purely overwhelming. I mean, in the game of us. vs. them, they certainly beat me in number.

David Sedaris' latest book is wonderful. He's really evolved from a satirist to, really, a bittersweet memorist. There are a few brief, highly affecting pieces that stay with you. Like sticky sticky gum!

When I came home, I also found that my internet was non-functional. And so I am sitting in a free-intarweb venue, wishing I were tucked away warm and snug in my own place. Damn you, apartment. EXILED! *shakes fist*
