Currently in Los Angeles...
So I've determined that it's not a coincidence, and I have decided that I am mimetic. I have to reconcile myself with the fact that whenever I get close to someone, we somehow adopt a series of encoded rituals, words, phrases and other symbols of exclusivity.
For instance -- a few entries ago I recorded the frustration of someone who was unable to decipher many of my linguistic oddities. The other evening we were talking to one another in a crowded room. Afterwards he commented, "The entire time we were talking to one another, I realized that we were basically saying things that no one else there could understand."
At which point I pointed at him and did a little jig. *jiggityjig* So quickly one of my detractors finds that when he stares into the abyss of my incessant memes and injokes, the viral mimeticism stares back at him! Yarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :arr:
I have a couple of sets sitting in my little 'sets' box, not queued... and I'm dying for them to go up, sigh. One's the very first set I shot... the other one is the 2girl set with Flux. Yum! When I get back to Portland... must shoot something else.
I finally got 12 straight hours of sleep. Fuck yes.
Went to this awesome bookstore in Santa Monica, CA today called the Midnight Special. When I was in high school and they were in their old location, I spent way too much time there, being indoctrinated with all sorts of awesome, sexy and bizarre liberal ideas. And now look at me! How perfectly damaged.
Booty:
'The Simpsons and Philosophy: The D'oh of Homer'
'A Scanner Darkly'
'Book of Lies - The Disinformation Guide to Magick and the Occult'
To read this weekend:
Finish Valis.
Finish Marx & Engels.
Read Madame Bovary.
I'm such a sucker for... like.. y'know... linguistic, visually rendered signifiers, arranged sequentially to convey meaning... bound together with shiny covers... *humps ALL of them*
When it's four in the morning and I haven't slept in almost three evenings and I'm crying and totally tweaked, man, and the response is total understanding, I've got to be thankful.

Thanks for introducing me to Joe Franklin via your thread - I've been listening to him a lot lately. Really amazing stuff.
