All in all it has been a pretty quiet day. Drug my butt outta bed around noon. After taking a few minutes to actually wake up did the shower thing and headed over to Brandon to grab some lunch and stop off at Barnes & Noble. We tried the Smoky Bones BBQ over by Brandon Town Center mall. Pretty reasonable and the food was good I think. Walked over to Barnes & Noble for a bit and bought a couple of books.
On the way home Melissa said she couldn't take a deep breath without it hurting and that the pain was radiating from her back through to her chest. That meant a trip straight to the ER. Thankfully because of her symptoms they took her straight to the back. No heart problems or anything, thank the goddess. But they said she has pleurisy. It's inflammation of the lining on the inside of your chest where your lungs rub against. Wherever it gets inflamed the mucous lining dries up some and when you breathe your lungs rub against the raw spot on the inside of your chest. Feels like a heart attack. I've had it before myself, only much more severe than hers was today. Fortunately she believes in going straight to the doc for things instead of letting them go for a day or two. A few prescriptions and they sent us on our way. All in all it was the shortest ER visit I have ever seen. In and out in less than 2 hours. It was a quiet day in the ER.
In other news, my company wants to send me to Chicago for a week or two to help out our facility up there. Seems their Ops manager left and took some of the supervisors with him to another company. I'm up in the air about it. It'd be basically going up there for no more pay to put out their fires and work really long hours fixing all their problems. I get a hotel room, rental car and all expenses paid but I am not sure it's worth it. Eh we'll see.
