I hope you are all doing well today, and this week was good. And I hope all of you are safe and healthy.
The protests around the world are continuing, and something obviously needs to be done. We need police to be better integrated into the community and not to be a militant force. On the other hand, I recognize what the police face with the violence they are constantly exposed to. How do we protect the civilian population from and overzealous police force while at the same time making sure the police are not too exposed to being hurt or killed by some dangerous elements? It's a very difficult problem. I wish we had an answer for it. There are definitely some steps that need to be taken. I won't even bother to post my views, because I know I do not know everything and will miss something important. But, what I will say is that people deserve respect. Just because someone's skin is a different color does not make them lesser. Stop being afraid. Embrace that difference!
So as reported I started the original Battlestar Galactica model, but I forgot to do one very important thing: I forgot to wash the model. UGH! So I had started putting on the the first layer of primer before I remembered it. **sigh** Fortunately, it seems that the surface was mostly clean and took the primer well. I'll see this morning how it looks after drying over night. If it's all good, then I'll put the slightly off-white coat of paint on today. If not, I'll have to try washing it partway through assembly and hope that water doesn't effect anything.
I felt dizzy off and on all day yesterday so skipped kung fu last night. Today after Karen finishes work we are going to get the hardware we need to mount a new fan on the kiln (the old one rusted out). Otherwise, it'll be a slow day today. It's a bit dreary outside, which kind of matches my mood.
So what do you think will be the next disaster we face in June? I've got money on either a super volcano or asteroid hitting the planet. At this point, I might just welcome the coming of robot invaders.
Much love to you all. Keep taking care of yourselves and stay safe. **MWAH**
