So what's on the old agenda today? Well, Karen's on conference calls the entire day, literally from 9:00 to 5:00 back to back. I really need to vacuum and do a load of laundry. But most importantly (to me, at least) I am working on my next model. But first, I have finally finished the 2001: A Space Odyssey space ship Discovery.
As you can see it's a bit spindly and delicate so it has a metal rod through it to stabilize the model. It looks really good overall, so I'm pretty pleased with it. Next up is the Battlestar Galactica from the original series in 1979. I've just started assembling it so I'm going to put it into sub-assemblies first then prime it dark grey then paint it a matte white, which should make all the details stand out. You can definitely see the details in the 2001 model from doing this. But here's where I am so far:
