It is Thursday, right?
Today I have finally forced myself to deal with the truth: There really is no place for a person like me. That is, for a Paladin, a person that sees the world in terms of right and wrong, black and white. Everyone sees in shades of grey, but that's really hard for me. I see things as one or the other. Always have. For instance, some people remain friends even after getting screwed by someone else. Me? Nope, screw me once, and that's that. On the other hand, you will never have a more loyal friend. Problem is, nobody likes a Paladin.
Also today I've realized something that I kinda knew about myself for a long time. I give really good advice, but I do not learn from my failures very well. But I can use my failures as teaching moments for others. Yay, I guess?
Yesterday I spent many hours putting tiny decals on my model and am about halfway through with it. So far so good. The super-duper tiny decals are going to be replaced with little dobs of paint, I've decided, because an orange sticker the size of a pin head will still look just fine with a spot of orange paint instead. Oh, in case I haven't mentioned, this is a spaceship from a very esoteric British tv show in the 70's Space: 1999. I love the show, even though it's somewhat painful to watch. But I really love the basic ships they developed. They are not pretty, not elegant, but they are what I would expect us to build, not sleek, but more utilitarian, and in that, I love them. I'm working on a 12" model now, but have a few 24" ones on their way, which are more complicated but easier to work with.
Phryne got her wings trimmed last night. Yesterday something startled her and she took off and flew head first into a window. She was okay, but that could have broken her neck. So I relented and, as much as I love that she has the freedom to follow me when she wants with full wings, it was time to clip her feathers to keep her from hurting herself. It's unfortunate, because her under wings have such a beautiful blue color that is nowhere else in her feathers. Oh well, at least it keeps her safe.
Today I'll be finishing the decals on the model, I hope. Much love to you all. Keep staying safe and taking care of yourselves. Love and hugs. **MWAH**
