Another Day

I'm having trouble getting going today. I got up, felt horrid from not getting a good night's sleep. Prepared the bird for getting up then got her up, went back for a nap. Had a loooong nap where I dreamed I was taking a nap. And during that dream I was dreaming I was taking a nap! It was a very meta dream, but really told me how inexplicably tired I am. I really have no reason for it, but I am.

Today I want to talk about weed. It's so controversial her in the US. I think the problem is that it has been demonized so long that we don't know the truth about it, it's benefits and it's potential harm. We hear many benefits through medicinal uses for calming anxiety, depression, bipolar, etc, as well as helping with pain management, but there are no trustable studies out there to point at and claim the truth. Many states have legalized it, but the federal government is still demonizing it. I just wish we could have some true unbiased studies done on it.

As for me...? Well, I'm against smoking it. But, that's for two reasons you might not expect immediately. One: I am very allergic to smoke so if people smoke anything (especially cigarettes) it sends me into a coughing fit and makes my throat close up. Two: How does it fit in to lung cancer? Is it a fact or not. Again, that's where we need studies. Does it cause lung cancer? What sorts of laws do we need in place for driving/operating machinery under the influence? How long does it effect your judgement (in comparison to alcohol, for instance)? I know in the US we have a culture of abusing alcohol. Normally once kids get to be the drinking age they (or before) they go on benders and get dangerously drunk, repeatedly, with many deaths due to alcohol poisoning. How do we prevent this sort of thing from happening with weed? How do we stop tobacco companies from getting ahold of it like they did with tobacco and making a more addictive, more dangerous product that will cause another health crisis?

I fight against myself when someone is so blase about weed because I have heard all my life about how bad it is. Now I just want more truth and responsibility in its use. So what do you think?

Okay, I know this was a deep conversation starter. So much love to you all, many hugs and so much love. Keep hanging in there loves. MWAH!!!

felicity:
I'm sorry to hear you're feeling so tired, and I understand cause I'm feeling the same way, sleeping so bad every night. I agree with you about how much we need research, most of them are very poor.
