I'm getting pumped up about the Bulls. I think the Celtics are the team to beat, but the Bulls will be right there.

I'm always feeling good about the Sox this time of year. Just as in 2005, I think my optimism is really justified. Holding my breath that Peavy can stay healthy all year.

The Blackhawks look like thay woke up too. Can you say, "Chicago, City of Champions"?

I'm excited about the baseball season too. I know I say that the Sox are going to contend every year, whether it's logical or not. This year, I really believe that this team is the real deal. Barring serious injuries and other disasters, the Sox look like the best team in the A.L. to me.

The Blackhawks seem to have broken away from the playoff log jam that included about 10 teams and have put themselves in position to defend the Cup. I think the casual fan forgets that they're the defending Stanley Cup Champion.

Wow! The Bulls look as good as anyone in the NBA. They're playing defense like they're possessed. With Noah back and fresh, they're going to be tough to beat. Luel Deng was kind of on the periphery of being a better than average player in the past in my opinion. He's become quite above average, and his consistency and hard work are paying serious dividends. He's become a reliable complement to Rose as a second star on the team.

Wow! I just read that the Sox re-signed Paul Konerko for three years. With him back at first base and Adam Dunn at DH, as well as sluggers like Carlos Quentin, the continuing improvement from Alexei Ramirez and the potential of Dayan Viciedo, the Sox potentially have the scariest lineup in the majors.

Now, if their relief pitching can come through, especially with young Chris Sale becoming their successful closer, it looks real good for next season..

I predict a high scoring game. Despite the success against the Jets, the Pats defense leaves a lot to be desired and Brady is by far the best QB in football. The Bears will try to force Brady to play a short passing game, which will only result in long scoring drives.

Unfortunately, while my heart says that the Bears will win, my head picks the Pats something like 38-30. I hope I'm wrong. The wild card is the Bears return game, with Hester on punts and Manning on kickoffs. If those two have big days, the Bears can pull it out.

You can fit my knowledge of wine in the eye of a needle. I hope you enjoyed it.

It might be time to say, "wait till next year" as far as the Sox arte concerned. They just went 7-3 on the road and lost one and a half games in the standings. That's not supposed to happen.

This might make people laugh, but I'm beginning to believe that the Twins are the best team in baseball, not withstanding the Yanks and Rays. They never seem to lose.

If I was still gambling, I'd place a small wager on the Twins to win ir all.

I was never a big fan of Manny either. The Sox don't need hitting nearly as much as they need pitching, especially consistent relief pitching.

Freddy Garcia tweaked his back in his last start, so they may have to replace him in the rotation. He's been surprisingly good, although his ERA is pretty high. He's always been a fighter. He could be a candidate for Comeback Player of the Year.

The twins finally lost last night. The Sox need to win and not worry about the Twins. Regardless of what happens, I'm very proud of them. I almost gave up hope when they ere nine games under. They showed a lot of heart and proffesionalism coming back like they did. Also, I have to give credit to Ozzie for keeping things from falling apart.

Yeah, I'm a little freaked out about it. I need to hit the gym and run for a minute to just clear my head and calm my nerves. I feel bad about lying, I really do, but I can't afford to go to court.
