see, its usually me and my sister that have to help my mom get rid of useless junk; for instance, my parents just bought a new house recently, and my mom refused to put anything in the kitchen up for weeks until we both got there, because the amount of useless stuff my parents have collected over the years is ungodly:

The University I was at before cancelled the program I was majoring in half-way through the semester, with no warning to any of us at all. So, I'm basically out, oh...$20,000.00, with bearly anything to show for it
Good thing I have, like, 40 years to pay the loan back.

I think a better way of dealing with the past self, is by accepting the fact that *yes*, i was that person, that person is still inside of me but she has grown to be the self i am today. Its all about self growth and moving forwards, if you deny that part of yourself, you are holding back other emotions you could be feeling. Not saying you WANT to be feeling the depressed suicidal person (of course!), but being able to balance all the emotions and self awareness together, is better than ignoring that side of your being.

My tires were slashed when I was in high school. Since I didn't "see" who did it, the police couldn't do anything. Although, a week later the "jocks" in my english class were making jokes about it. I knew that they did it.....I'm sure they were burned by karma since.
