i got mine cut at on the fringe, on campus. it wasn't super cheap, i think it came out to maybe $35-40, but i had it done months ago and it still has a pretty good shape.
i also have a friend who gets her hair cut by students at the Aveda downtown... all the cuts i've seen them give her have been really good and the price is right ($15.00 for a semi-pro cut) but i've heard it can be kind of hit and miss as far as getting the style you're after.
