I'm just about feeling the christmas thing. Nearly, but not quite yet getting that feeling that you used to get as a kid, the expectation and wonder, the terror of an even slightly anticlimatic christmas day. And getting old might have taught me that the anticlimax is pretty much inevitable, but I'm also getting to think its what makes xmas special. Just like New Year is pretty much an excuse to get appalling drunk and sentimental - everything that has passed and is yet to pass etc etc etc.... -I reckon christmas is meant for basically sitting about and realising just how damn lucky you are.
And I am.
But still I've got the rest (i.e just about all) of the shopping to get through. And actually getting home to a provincial scottish town via scottish public "transport" on Christmas eve when everybody else has pretty much the same idea. Deep Breath.
Lets just say that the more I think about it, the more I'm starting to think that "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" is the Christmas Movie par excellence
I need to go have a preparatory lie down,
speak soon
