I've been slacking off on the #bloghomework lately, but this topic I just had to do! So stoked that @lyxzen, @missy and @rambo assigned this one!
As a former tattoo apprentice who practically lived in a shop for almost three years, I've had a lot of time to obsess over tattoos and tattoo artists. I found a feature on the incredible Amanda Wachob in an issue of Tattoo Society years ago, and I've been absolutely in love with everything she does ever since. She has incredible color technique (see above photo), incomparable to most, and she specializes in minimalist, abstract pieces that are aesthetically striking beyond any tattoo I've ever seen.
Abstract work isn't all she can do, though! She's done many stunning pieces that revolve around nature as well, and it would be an absolute dream come true if I could somehow find the funds to have her do a 3/4 sleeve that I've been pining for. I have a real thing for flowers. As in, when my money is right and I can afford it, I will put fresh cut flowers in every room in my house. The scents, the colors, the feminine aesthetics, flowers just speak to me on a level you could almost consider spiritual. I've wanted a floral collage on my arm forever, arranged in a way to look almost like vintage wallpaper, like this:
I think the piece would fit my arm (and personality) perfectly, and I can't think of any artist I've seen, famous or not, that could do a better job than Amanda Wachob. I think she could honestly make the piece look as if it were transferred directly from finest floral wallpaper you could find, and pasted onto my arm.
Yeah, I would basically be able to die happy.
