We don't have to worry
Life goes where it does
Faster than a bullet
From an empty gun
Turn yourself over
Loose change we could spend
Grinding down diamonds
Round, round, round the bend
Last week, I was walking around campus, taking pictures on an overcast afternoon, waiting for my film screening to start. After the film, I stopped by DBS to see my friend Mike and we stood outside chatting while he smoked a cigarette. I was facing the store and had my back to the street and he kept making funny faces over my shoulder. I glanced quickly to find a little girl wearing a hooded jacket staring at us through the bars of the stair rail. We tried sticking our tongues out and smiling and waving, but she wouldn't smile and she wouldn't move an inch. I put my back to her again and reached inside my bag to turn the camera on and adjust my aperature setting quickly. I pulled out the camera and turned around and she immediately looked away. I shot off a few quick images to make sure I at least got some sort of a picture, but she looked back and stared for a few more seconds. This shot was the only one of the 4 that wasn't horribly affected by camera shake. Not even 2 seconds after this picture was taken, she turned her head again and ran to her mother that was waiting at the bus stop closer to the street.
