i just read an article about Jet Blue passengers that were left on various runways and taxiways during the recent storm in the eastern part of the country. for as much as ten hours. the worst i have ever experienced was on a flight via Northwest Airlines from Minneapolis to Amsterdam. one of the engines refused to start (always encouraging) and we sat at the gate for falmost five hours waiting for it to be fixed. no one could get off, they served no drinks, not even water, and of course no food. that was bad enough, but the outside temperature was 94 F and to cool the plane, they opened the doors. despite rather vociferous complaints, we were not allowed off of the airplane. talk about feeling helpless. that, combined wth *extremely* loud banging sounds coming from the cockpit did little to instill confidence and that good feeling about flying in general.
maybe it will take a passenger riot to prevent this sort of thing from occuring as regularly as it does. airplane travel these days sucks as it is, these events only serve to point out how bad it really has become.
ok, i feel better.

I can't wait for him to come home! He called about an hour ago saying that his flight was moved up so he should be home about midnight! I'm a happy girl!
I hope all is well with you
