aaaaack...i just returned from seeing my cousin who is at a treatment center for his alcoholism. we found him 01/07 near death in his bedroom. he spent 2 weeks in the hospital and was sent to treatment. he had been taking court ordered Antabuse, but quit taking it in December. things went downhill rather quickly.
i only mention this because he is not engaging in the treatment process. he goes for 75 days at a halfway house on Tuesday, as per the most recent court order. right now it looks like a waste of everybody's time and efforts, not to mention the expense. i just came away very discouraged. i realize it is his choice, but hate it when people make poor decisions. plus, he is a threat to society when he drinks.
i am so thankful i took my treatment seriously, it made for a whole new life for a lot of people. i wish i could convey that to him.
oh well...we are given free choice.

happy valentine's day! may the day be fun for you!
I know alcoholism all to well. It has taken over virtually everyone in my family except for me, yet I'm the only one who seems to be hurt by it.
