awwhh, poor new crew. not very bright of them, but it will be a funny story, at least.

de Sade is Very Fascinating, indeed. the A&E teevee biography him is something rather well done, too. smile

i succeeded in not falling today...woohoo!!
but, alas, it is raining...i'm thinking chunky boots, that don't slip is a good idea, for the sidewalk ramblings i have to take this morning...

so what is new in the state of MN you ask? well it is finally way above freezing, a February thaw. very welcome after the first two weeks of the month. it is so odd to drive around with the car window down and feel that the 40F temperature is warm. smile now if only we could get some precipitation to ease the drought situation a...

i just read an article about Jet Blue passengers that were left on various runways and taxiways during the recent storm in the eastern part of the country. for as much as ten hours. the worst i have ever experienced was on a flight via Northwest Airlines from Minneapolis to Amsterdam. one of the engines refused to start (always encouraging) and we sat at the...

It was a really cool show. I agree, it would be an awesome program for more prisons to have.

I can't wait for him to come home! He called about an hour ago saying that his flight was moved up so he should be home about midnight! I'm a happy girl!
I hope all is well with you kiss

aaaaack...i just returned from seeing my cousin who is at a treatment center for his alcoholism. we found him 01/07 near death in his bedroom. he spent 2 weeks in the hospital and was sent to treatment. he had been taking court ordered Antabuse, but quit taking it in December. things went downhill rather quickly.

i only mention this because he is not engaging in...

Thanks for the comment.

I know alcoholism all to well. It has taken over virtually everyone in my family except for me, yet I'm the only one who seems to be hurt by it. frown

Robot Bartender

A man walked into a very high-tech bar. As he sat down on a stool he
noticed that the bartender was a robot. The robot clicked to attention and
asked, "Sir, what will you have?"

The man thought a moment then replied, "A martini please."

The robot clicked a couple of times and mixed the best martini the man had...

well it had to happen. it warmed up 20 degrees, good, and then it snowed. bad for some. evidently there was a 40 car wreck on a freeway outside of Minneapolis and people were stuck in the back log/jam for 2 hours. i am finding that it really pays to work from home. my biggest delay today was avoiding a pile of 4 cats trying...

Foot fault: Buffalo teen tests the big chill -- and loses

A five-minute loss of common sense turned painful for a Buffalo teenager in subzero temps.

By Maura Lerner, Star Tribune

The 18-year-old Buffalo High School senior was treated for frostbite this morning after his stunt during halftime of the Super Bowl.

The Brown family men have a tradition of running around the garden barefoot...

f'ing cold. it was 21F BELOW zero last night. let's see that is -29.4 C. the frozen wasteland lives. surreal

edit:

watching the news tonight, i find that there have been several water main freezes and breaks around town. also, school buses here are mandated to use biodiesel. that is a laudable and wonderful idea, but it tends to gel when very cold, bringing the bus...

since nobody reads this, i figure i can write anything here. i witnessed a rather sad and disturbing situation occur here on SG in the past 24 hours or so. a support group let down an individual who was new and who was asking if anyone had some similar experiences. i always have thought that "support" means just that, but learned differently. each person is...

That is sad. Some people suck. But I have noticed that actually, the majority of people in the world are nice. For example, I got beaten up by two people, but at least ten people rushed to help me, all of whom were strangers.

Um, that was meant to be an inspiring story. About how nice people are. I'm not good at this.

well...sitting here waiting for a winter storm to develop over the region, part of a larger system affecting the midwest and the ohio valley. it has been a rather strange winter here, quite warm and not a lot of snow or any precipitation for that matter. same system that caused all the problems in kansas and points south.
