dear there's no need of talking german without a dictionary. you just need the basics to make people understand you, and you'll learn the rest while there. just start studying instead of wondering!
as a kid, i've studied german. i used to talk it quite well, and when i've stayed in germany for a while i've never needed a dictionary. turn your words, or use another one. in common use, there's no need of it.
and your english is more than good. stop saying otherwise. you have better grammar than many americans!
