Well... this is the wind down to an incredibly messed up week. Or month, really.
Everyone's trickling out homewards to Belleville, Omaha, Edmonton, etc.
The funeral service was Tuesday, which was not only the first funeral for my immediate family, but also my first time as pallbearer. Met a lot of my grandma's family (brothers, sisters and their children) I either hadn't met or hadn't seen since I was wee.
Wednesday morning we placed her ashes with the grave of my grandfather (whom I never got to meet - he died in '68 at the age of 42). Our plans are to lobby for change in the Veteran's Affairs policy to allow for a smaller second markers to be placed to acknowledge spouses buried in the same or adjacent plots.
On a lighter note, we gathered at my uncle's yet again before the last few trickle home. My cousin brought his little Welsh Corgi, Norman, over.
Norman and my uncle's dog, Nikki, resting for a moment.
Tug of war. Hilarity ensues. Guess who won?
Doggy pile.
After a good 45 mins of roughhousing, it seems Norman tired poor Nikki out.
