Holy crap, I was arrested this morning!
So I have some issues with responsibility, this is no secret. My vehicle registration has been expired since August '05. I got a speeding ticket on Memorial day that I never paid. Finally, my driving privileges are suspended in the state of Virginia. So, I was on my way to work this morning and this cop pulls up behind me. Like a moron I panicked and changed lanes...he changed lanes. I turned right...he turned right. Can you guess what comes next?
To make a long story short...When the cop pulled me over I was scared as hell. I said "I don't have a license, but I drive very well Officer."
I was arrested, the car was impounded. There was no way for me to avoid being grounded.
So I'm handcuffed in the back of the cruiser, on my way "downtown" (I thought it was pretty sweet when he told me he was taking me downtown...I felt like a total badass). I was sitting at the station watching the officer (who was mad cool, by the way) fill out the paperwork, he was asked over by the lady behind the counter. Turns out since the warrant is in Sedgwick County, I can't be arrested unless I'm within 100 miles of the county.

So now I get to wait for my sister to come get me to take me to the impound lot, release the car and tow it to my place. So now here's a breakdown of the pluses and minuses of this morning's adventure.
Bad stuff:
I was pulled over and arrested.
Car impounded, $100 fee.
License taken away, no ID now.
Good stuff:
I couldn't actually be arrested, $180 bond narrowly averted.
$120 ticket in Sedgwick County is only $30 (I was under the impression that it was $120).
I can still get my Colorado driver's license, in spite of my revoked privileges in VA.
Joined the Allstate Motor Club on impulse a few months ago and they will tow my car back home for free.
I am a total badass.
You don't have to say it, I know how lucky I am. Fear not sports fans, I'm not taking it for granted. I thank my god damn lucky stars each and every time luck smiles on me. God damn, I'm a lucky sonovabich.
Much more lucky then my mom. Apparently she was robbed at gunpoint this morning as she was leaving her driveway to go to work. I haven't talked to her about it, she was out when I called. Her fiance told me that it was handgun, ski mask, the whole 9. She's a Capricorn too, I wonder if there's something in the stars.
