I got my wisdom teeth ripped out AND some jaw-chipping fun on Monday! I'm swollen and in immense amounts of pain despite multiple painkillers. This is definitely the worst surgery yet. I hate oral tenderness.
Christmas ruled. Got a new video iPod to replace my broken-motor-and-out-of-warranty old school (click wheel) pod. New Years was okay, an early night to say the least. Today I'm feeling needy and so sore (thus being up at 6am in agony), but I'm wondering something that some of the other artists (and tattoo artists) out there might be able to give an opinion on...
I'm not a tattoo artist (yet), and don't intend to take it on as anything more than a hobby EVER, but I randomly just got to thinking... where is it appropriate to draw the line with your clients? I've seen my artist(s) refuse swastikas etc, but I'm wondering... does an animal-loving artist have a right to turn down a client who might want a beheaded (insert fluffy thing here) on their arm? I think it's the painkillers talking... I just wonder what the overall tattoo community thinks on the matter. If it's not racist, politically terrilble or completely illegal... where does an artist who relies on clientel have the 'right' to draw the line? I mean, I've seen people turn down tattoos that someone will clearly regret, but are they within ethical boundaries to do so if their client is choosing to go ahead with it?
Okay... back to attempting to sleep off this pain...
(for the record, I'm a massive animal lover and would never be able to stand having or doing a gorey tattoo... but some people love that style, so I try not to judge)
