Delaware Senate passed new Recreational 420 legislation with a majority of enough votes to override any potential Governor’s veto, the House did the same thing last week. So now it sits on the Governor’s desk awaiting official signature. As of yesterday he had 10 days to do so, that clock is ticking and down to 9 now. He could sign it anytime within that 10 day period, or if not, the legislation is deemed to have passed into what’s called a “pocket veto” meaning he’ll just let the 10 days expire then the legislation automatically becomes law. Last year he quite vocally objected to and vetoed it, and since it was during mid-term election season many legislators backed down with not enough votes to stand up to the Governor. There have been no confirmed reactions from him or his staff so far… so it seems that sometime very soon Delaware will get a permanent visit from Puff The Magic Dragon!
