On a personal note: my emotional health becomes a wild rollercoaster running up to seasonal changes, as we have now in the Northern Hemisphere with the Vernal Equinox fastly approaching. I see all the vibrant fertility bursting forth in new tree buds, flashes of colors within wild meadows, even the air sings of kinetic promise. That said, seasonal changes often produce unwelcomed side effects such as the blindsided breakup of a relationship. It hurts. It scars. It needs time and support to heal.
Indie musical artist THALA, born and raised in Berlin Germany, has been flying under the radar so to speak for years, and when I first heard this song - only her 2nd single since her modest 2021 album release “Adolescence” - I thought I’d take a serious minute to delve deeper beyond that breezy saccharine summery feel good stuff… and found that she isn’t afraid to lay bare her emotions from a breakup in such an adulting way. I’m now eagerly anticipating her next full album, probably not until the summer tour season ends and she takes opportunity of the ample timeframe to crowd test some new works still in progress.
