Never feel you’re alone. We hear you 😢
While playing in the SG Silliness Song Title thread earlier today I had the opportunity to look up a 1970 song from the iconic peace and love singer Melanie who soared in popularity after she related her feelings on paper from being involved with the equally iconic 1969 Woodstock Festival. I was immediately struck with how that decade of social and economic injustices is being repeated right now all over the world in mindless civil wars, authoritarian apathy, and unnecessary accumulation of wealth over principles of sanity.
The daily losses of life and historical architecture and shrines, the complete interruption of normalcy of society and life across Ukraine needs another Woodstock event - any grand public event - to put the spotlight directly on the world and tribal leaders who cling to these final shreds of their power and tell them directly that enough is enough.
We all know who you are… we know exactly what you’re about… and we as a fragile world are tired of your status quo.
I’m somewhat encouraged by Russia hinting at a peace plan, but then that old and crusty dog face Lavrov - Putin’s personal advisor - went and peed all over it. But my faith and hope is strong, not nearly as strong as the Ukrainians… my wish is that somehow they see this, hear this, and never give up. You are never alone 🇺🇦🤝🇺🇸
