☕️ aaak!!! I just learned we're drinking coffee at the wrong time of day!
Neuroscientists now say the body's natural cortisol energy level, secreted by adrenal glands, is at peak performance upon waking ~ it's the natural trigger to rise and greet the day. If coffee is added immediately, it gradually tricks hormones to become less naturally responsive, and more dependent upon the caffeine. Eventually almost shutting down completely, eep!
They now say wait about 60-90mins for that 1st cuppa, especially if adding sugars and fats. The body will be in sufficient energy decline to better absorb the jolt and calories. Who knew?
