I moved 600 miles away. I still live by the ocean but now I live by the forrest too. The western front is burning and I've returned to academia.
I'm reading 'Eyeless in Gaza'.
The air is so clear, even with the smoke. Everything is crisp and wet. There is tiny life, everywhere. The clouds are thick and low. The horizon is jagged and torn upward, level with the treeline.
I am happy here.

A very appropriate book to read as a transplant to our fair land. Huxley moved to Los Angeles in 1937 and spent most of his life here thereafter. And maybe the hereafter too.
