♥So, the trip to Arizona was really nice! I haven't uploaded/processed any photos yet, but within a couple weeks I should have some to show. I finished mine + Irinkas Joshua Tree photos though! Check out my flickr to see all the photos.
irinka pointed out this crazy sculpture place so we made a quick stop for some photos.
Like I said, head to my Flickrstream to check out the rest.
♥ We got home from AZ on Monday night and somewhere in all of that travleling, I caught some sort of bug or nasty virus or food poisioning. I spent most of Monday night barfing and Tuesday I slept in bed/read. Today I've felt much better and I even got dressed (!) but I still spent most of the day reading. I was very lucky to experience an 'emergency' water shutoff (in the middle of brushing my teeth, thanks guys), the insane screaming children across the way, and the insane senile man downstairs, who insists on trying to drown out the childrens' noise with some kind of electric noisemaker. Suffice to say my headache was not going away any time fast. I am feeling pretty much healed now though and I'm excited to go to work tomorrow! Loving my job is a nice feeling. Because Monday was a holiday and Tues/Wed were sick days, I will only have one day of work this week--it makes me feel like a total slacker! But, there's no way I could have been around the baby when I was that sick. I couldn't risk his health for the sake of a paycheque.
♥ I'm still reading the book about Mongol domination, but it's a little to heavy to be sick-reading, so I picked up 'Into Thin Air' by Jon Krakauer. I've wanted to read it for a couple years and I saw a Nova special recently about the same expidition so I picked it up when I saw it secondhand a couple days later. It's really interesting and quite easy to breeze through.
♥In honour of the newly announced Edmonton Folk Fest headliners, I present for my Canadian Music Corner, Hawksley Workman. I've heard he's kind of an egomaniac, but he's pretty brilliant when it comes to being musical and awesome, so I guess we let it slide. (skip to 1.29 for the music)
♥ Two more road trips planned with Irinka for the near future: LA trip this Friday to go to a party, Long Beach next Saturday for Ink + Iron. We're both planning on getting work done--I'm getting a Kali leg piece by Ryan Mason. I'm pretty excited! I think as far as goddesses go, Kali is pretty much the best, which is why I've had that quote about her in my header for a while now. It's from the Kinnie Starr song 'Praise' which first struck me in 2003 and since then it's stuck. That is one of the happiest songs ever. It is all about being human and loving your life and other people. When I was 18 and newly single, getting used to how huge my (one bedroom!! tiny!!) apartment felt, I'd put on Praise and dance around. It made me feel really strong and happy.
♥ I have gotten a few fan arts in the past weeks so I made a new folder cause if someone made the effort to do it, it's kind of best to show it off!!

It's so badass that you found marine themed sculptures in the middle of the desert!

Seriously. Oh, and as it turns out, it's actually impossible for women in Quebec to take their new spouse's last name: there's actually a provincial law against it!
