hi baby!
i only have a couple minutes before i leave the sunny shore of north carolina to board my first bus of the trip to jersey! i just wanted to do a quick little update. i'll have to wait until next time to respond to comments from el-last-blog-o.
arrived sunday immediately met some crazy rednecks from west virginia while strolling the sands. partied with them that night and was graced with the hilarity of learning all about the coal-mining life, barely being able to decipher words through the thick "southern" drawl, listening to complaints about how CMT wasn't coming in on the tay-vee (tv for us regular folk) and watching these guys shotgun beers which they cracked open at the bottom using their teeth...which maybe explains why so many of them were missing. or, maybe it doesn't. anyways, it was great. after that i couldnt sleep so by the time five a.m. rolled around i just went and watched the sun rise and observed the fucking sand crabs digging holes for two hours. also great.
after that i spent countless hours soaking in the sun, wandering miles on the beach, listening to good music, reading good books, thinking about life, writing in my journal, people watching, people meeting, and eating copious amounts of food (good old family vacations) for probably the last time for the next few months.
last night i spent two hours discussing philosophy and my views on life with the coolest fifty-two year old woman i have ever met in my entire life. i swear, she must be my soul-mate. we sat cross-legged facing each other chatting away while she got completely trashed off of mike's hard lemonade. when i decided to make my way back to my beach house around two a.m. her last words to me were:
"remember the dragonfly"
you will understand this one day once i have time for a proper journalistic update.
the family was surprisingly tolerable and i can actually say that i enjoyed myself. i want to elaborate on this aspect but there is no time! no time!
i am very tan now and a bit sad to wave goodbye to the sun and sand but onward i must go! adventure awaits! my adventure REALLY begins today. in a few moments. when i leave to hit up the greyhound station aka kwik stop convenient store in elizabeth city, nc to head to new jersey to hang out with zepp101! monday nyc! tuesday to pittsburgh! thursday chicago! then to portland! and calllllllllllliiiiiiiiforrrrrrrniaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. woooooooooo!
i'm so ready. so ready. so so so so so readyyyyyyyyyyyy!
ok i have to run sorry if this update sucks but i thought i'd check in since i had the small but distinct opportunity.
so hello from the north carolina shore. literally.
beach bum glow ala rexx below. yayyyyyyyy!
