First of all, I want to state that this blog express my own, and only MINE, opinion. So don't go around blaming others for MY thoughts.
What is art? For me, art is a way to express something we have deep inside. Most of times, these feelings are too deep and painful to be expressed in words, that's way artists look for other ways of expression, such as music, painting or photography.
That's why art is controversial. Sometimes, the viewer have the same feelings and too much fear to face them, what places him in a vulnerable state. This insecurity turns every human being into a scared animal, and the only thing a scared animal can do and think of, is attack.
At this point, political correction was invented. Political correction is a cynical way to put blinders on flock (yes, the prequel of my last post). Political correction is a way to allow people avoid their fears: that horrible things exist in the world, and that their not as secure as they thought. Political correction points a finger to artists and yells "YOU SON OF AN UNHLY MOTHER!!! YOU CAN'T SHOW ME THIS!!!" (of course, they always have an excuse, such as "you are mocking on the people you are describing here").
You think my art is a mock, you idiot? Can't it be that you're too weak to see the truth?
The truth, yes... everybody looks for it. To know how to avoid it.
That's why I think DeeDee's Bipolar set is the best I've seen in this site so far. And I've been around for a bit. She (and the photographers IvyLamas and DiazArri) are making art of somethign too painful to be expressed verbally.
