Don't worry about your technical expertise. You just need a few tips. I post regularly to the PC Users Group and have worked with computers many years now. I'm sure that we can get you up to snuff.

.BMP files are Bitmap files, like the wallpaper on your desktop. In practicality, they are really too large for posting on the Internet. If SG allowed Bitmap files to be posted on their site, it would require a great deal of resources. In reality, .JPG (Jpeg) and .GIF formats are much more palatable. They are much smaller and possess good image quality.

I don't know which graphics editing program you prefer, but Microsoft Paint, or Paintbrush, depending on your version of Windows (You do have a PC, right?), is at your disposal. You can find it by clicking on the Start button and then going to the Accessories group.

Open one of your Bitmap pictures in that graphics editing program (through File, Open). Once it appears on the screen, go to File --> Save As and save it as file type .JPEG (through the bottom drop-down menu).

Now, go to your graphics folder, perhaps the My Pictures folder, and right click on the new image and select "Properties". The file size needs to be less than 100K. If it is not, you might want to trying saving the image as .GIF as indicated above. This may make the file small enough to upload to the Liberal Politics group photosets and/or your personal SG profile photosets.

If you don't know how to link to photos for posting in threads, then read carefully. Once the photo is uploaded and viewed enlarged (not thumbnailed, or like a little picture), you need to right click on the photo and select "Properties" as before, but this time, when you see the http://.... you need to right click and Copy the URL (address name) in its entirety. Then, you can use the Image Insert link (below the smilies) or simply paste the address within the IMG brackets and you're all set.

Thanks for all the luv everyone. I got a great new keyboard/synthesizer for my birthday, and am learning to play it. I plan to achieve my goal of being alone on a stage with just a piano and a mic, in a tiny, dark, smoky blues club. I should be ready in about 5 or 6 years. Watch for me then.
