Tonight I'm remembering one of the things I hated about Portland: no good bars. There are two types: the one tap and a surly barmaid local dives that are full of 60-year-old men, and the shi-shi yuppie bars full of drunken sorority girls and fratties. I need a new scene in Portland. I mean, there's a nice crowd out for the indie shows on Wednesdays at Space. Where do they all disappear to during the weekend?

i've never really understood the bar scene, myself. although that might be that i'm not a drinker--not a fan of the marketing.
that, and drunks tend to get on my nerves.

see Sin City asap. if yr into brilliant visuals and incredible narration, you'll like it.
if you like linear storylines, storybook endings and shiney-new, fakey sci-fi CGI it's likely you'll not like it.
