songs: i feel alright/steve earl and on the way to boston/the rosebuds
i had a such a swell day, yesterday. i think i deserved it. jolee and i went for our usual swim saturday night after work. and we especially deserved it this time b/c the a/c was out at work. not fun. i was working in the kitchen w/ an aunt jemima style hanky around my head, flip-flops, and a tank top. total health code violation but whatever. i put wet rags in the freezer and wrapped them around my neck in an effort to keep from melting. anyway, i survived by romanticizing the sweltering situation by pretending i was some sultry southern dame in a tennessee williams play.
but back to my magical sunday, jolee and i woke up that morning and had brunch here. i used to work there so i've got the hookup on some stiff mimosas . i had two. we got back to town and went to my aunts' house for margaritas. then we snuck two water bottles full of margaritas into the movie theater to watch this. hey, we don't have many choices in this town with a two screen theater. but actually it was pretty funny and probably just what i needed. then we headed to the new bar in town for more cocktails. i had three vodka sodas (w/ tito's of course) and three hours of great conversation with my aunts and jo lee. my aunt and her partner are celebrating their ten year anniversary this month. it's a damn shame they can't get married. too bad we don't live in a free country. oh wait.....? i digress.
me and jolee headed back to my house to drink a couple beers in my super awesome hammock.
let me wrap up:
two mimosas plus several margaritas plus three vodka sodas plus one beer equals one drunk little mess by midnight:
it was nice to get together wih three ladies that i love so dearly. i was reminded that it is possible to have a great time without a penis in the equation.
and i will say that small town life is much more conducive to star-gazing than the city.
i'm happy and i hope you are, too.

I'm camped out in the middle of nowhere desertville pounding away on this DeSoto all day, soaking in the bath at night, and gazing at the mood while my friend Moldy concocks fabulous mixed drinks!
I too, am enjoying small town life at the moment...the friend I'm living with keeps asking when I'm coming back and all I can say is, "Fuck! Who cares?!"
