Something is wrong with the venerable auto. I'm hoping it's something simple, like a bad solenoid or something. The battery isn't old (I suppose it could be a funky one, though. Must check warranty.)
And now, for the super-geeky portion of the blog:
In totally unrelated - but very cool - news, researchers at the University of Utah have developed a method for recycling waste heat into electricity. I really, really hope this is practically applicable; I don't see why it wouldn't be. It seems like the sort of thing we could have discovered and built decades ago, we just happened to come up with it now. God I love thermoacoustics. The components even have a great science-fictiony name - "resonators."
Meanwhile, the Post wonders: do virtual worlds need law enforcement? This is sort of a pet topic of mine. I really don't like the idea of meatspace governments sticking their pudgy fingers into virtual communities. On the other hand, the current laissez faire stance of the major content providers isn't going to fly for much longer. "Oh, we don't want to dictate what sort of society develops online," is what they usually say. Well guess what, gents - by doing nothing, you are dictating what develops, by default. It's called a State of Nature, and it pretty much sucks.

nope, something they call bonding... it works really well for the most part... except when taking to the pavement.

I applaud your "guess what". An old lady once said to my father, in all seriousness: "oh I'm not political dear, I'm a Conservative".
