I said, "I didn't want to say anything because I'm sure it will just make things awkward in the end, but I really like you."
She said, "It won't be awkward. I've wanted you to kiss me for the past two hours."

And a certain irony, as well. Or perhaps just a talent for measured understatement. Either way, sounds like a good one
