rant of the week: hippies with dogs

by me, a homeless youth and animal lover

the fact of the matter is dogs are very expensive, time-consuming, feeling beings. my pet peeve is my peers getting pets. i love and want animals too, but i view a puppy no less than a child: it's not fair to bring one under your care if you are a)poor b)unknowing c)have no time. a lot of young owners are all three and it really gets under my skin.
the worst thing in the whole world is an untrained large dog. or a natural sheep dog without running space. or a pitbulls ribs. and i don't care who they are to me i'll fucking speak up for the animal and then they'll think i'm a bitch. but i don't care. if someone is spanging with a sign that says "dog food please" that's just fucked.
advice to the poor:
animals are more than just fun and food bills. it's not that hard to read up about the nature of dogs and training. research breeds. then when you're finacially stable and realize every need go ahead and get one. and for pete's sake listen to bob barker.

ps. on the contrary- most hippies make very good dog owners because we walk so goddamn much.
