I have missed you all so very much but only just got the internet in the new house and of course you cant get on Suicide Girls on public access computers! Blah! Will grab an update from you all asap!
Sooo
Barcelona was fantastic - had mucha fun! Managed to get to the airport hassle free and checkin in was a breeze I didnt have to speak to a single person. It felt good flying on a real airline not something rubbishy like Easyjet they gave you free food and drink!!! I remember last time I had airplane food it was horrendous but this was really fresh and yummy! And I had my first ever female pilot. Hehe!
Confusion on landing as it was late, it was 25 degrees Celsius and I dont speak Spanish but managed to make it to Gracia where I was staying with Katie, her uncle and his made flatmate Richard. Got in late so it was pretty much food and bed with a little catching up and some Spanish TV!
Next day brought me much joy mostly because I got to lie in so late! Went to the big Guadi place Park Guell and it was absolutely gorgeous the ceramics are fantastic and the pillars are at funny angles cause he hated straight lines. And all the vegetation is so green, its an absolutely gorgeous place to just hang out for a while and its all free too!
Took a wander into town and down La Rambla to see all the human statues and the bizarre stalls selling birds and fish never saw anyone buy one but theres soo many stalls. There was an Andy Warhol exhibition on in this little museum and it was only 4 euro. There was this really cool Lenin picture I had never seen before which Im totally in love with. Its this intense red and it completely dominated the room I was captivated entirely.
Its ounds really bad but I went to an Irish bar that night to watch the Spain vs France World Cup match. Its called the Dubliner and I recommend everyone a visit when they are there. Its mostly full of people who teach English and French to the locals and its run by an Irish guy called Steve who looks a little like Steve the bartender from Sex and the City. The pub sells Guiness, Tayto crisps (YUM!) and HUGE shots! It was meant to be a quiet night but the drinks kept coming even though I only paid for one and by half four I was drunk as a skunk. (Side Note: who drunk do skunks get?) I met all thse random yet fantastic people like Ken, 59, 3D lecturer at NCAD in Dublin. Hes very interesting and believes everyone is an artist however he apparently has a taste for young women so I made sure he knew I wasnt interested. He still demanded I take his mobile number and email address hehe! Bar owner Steve is very cool. He plays underwater hockey which sounds scary but apparently is lots of fun. And he let me pull my first pint, pour my first Guinness and start serving. In fact, at one point it was just me and Katie behind the bar while Steve sat and relaxed.
On the way home Katie decided it was very important she got on top of a car and she did. Mad woman! And in flip flops too! We then sat on a random scooter and I flopped onto the bonnet of another car. We were determined the night was still young even though it was four thirty so we we ventured forth but everywhere was closed which was probably for the best!
Next day was spent recovering . We didnt get up til 2 and very fragile, managing to leave the house by about 5. I got a cool Futurama bag and then, whole point of the trip, we went to see Shakira. And WOW she was amazing although my complete lack of Spanish meant I had no idea what she was saying. Her voice was amazing and she played harmonica and guitar too. She had so much energy and just looked so excited and happy to be there the whole time. And he dancing is enough to make any girl jealous and any man drool. I definitely want to move like that!!!
Final day then, went to Sagrada FAmilia. It is so beautiful and I cant imagine it will ever be finished. Anyways if they do ever get it done, by that time they will have to start restoration on the original bits,
Finally went down to the beach and relaxed to finish off the trip.
However
Flight back was delayed and by the time I got back I missed the last train and had to stay in the airport. BY the time I finished work that night I had been up for 36 hous and of course, going to my new house. All the moving happened while I was away and it was all very confusing. But I got to sleep in the end and that was the main thing!
Just been working since I got back to this insane weather. It should not be over 30 degrees Celsius in England!!!
Much love people!
